Longhorns joining Big Ten?

Just weeks ago, we provided you with some insight that Missouri was discussing a possible move to the Big Ten.  Today, it is being reported that Texas is now in the discussion.  Yes, you heard right, the Texas Longhorns, arguable the best team in the Big Ten.

According to this report, the Big Ten is talks with Texas, although they are being described as “preliminary” at best.

“There have been preliminary exchanges between the Big Ten and Texas,” the source told the Journal-World on Wednesday. “People will deny that, but it’s accurate.”

Clearly if Texas is on the table, the Big Ten has decided that geography makes no difference in its decision to expand the conference to at least twelve teams.  If anything, it makes one wonder if in fact, the powers to be are actually thinking of adding multiple teams and not just one.

Interesting.
