Conference Moves
1/6/2010 – The 2009 season is complete with Ohio State (11-2), Iowa (11-2), Penn State (11-2) and Wisconsin (10-3) victorious in the bowl season. The 2010 season begins on September 4, 2010
12/6/2009 – Ohio State (Rose) and Iowa (Orange) secure the conference two BCS bids.
11/21/2009 – Ohio State defeats Michigan for the sixth time in a row and wins its fifth straight conference title and first outright title since 2007. Iowa and Penn State tie for 2nd place.
11/14/2009 – Ohio State defeats Iowa to secure at least a share of its fifth straight conference title. The Buckeyes will represent the Big Ten conference in the Rose Bowl, the team’s first since 1996.
11/7/2009 – Iowa’s luck ran out as they were defeated 17-10 at home versus Northwestern. Penn State lost to Ohio State, 24-3 likely meaning that next weekend’s Iowa/OSU winner will head to Pasadena and represent the Big Ten in the Rose Bowl as Big Ten champion.
10/31/2009 – Iowa survives a test against Indiana, and remains undefeated, while Wisconsin becomes bowl eligible
10/24/2009 – Iowa needed a last-second miracle to remain undefeated as they defeat Michigan State 15-13 in East Lansing. With just four weeks to go, the conference title will likely go to some combination of Iowa, Penn State and Ohio State.
10/17/2009 – Purdue beats Ohio State which seriously could hurt the Buckeye’s chance to win a fifth conference title in a row. Iowa dismantled Wisconsin which likely pushed the Badgers out of contention. Iowa, Ohio State, Michigan State and Penn State are realistically the only teams remaining that have a chance at winning at least a part of the 2009 conference title.
10/10/2009 – Ohio State took another step towards a fifth straight conference title after dismantling Wisconsin this weekend. The Buckeyes are 3-0 on the season. Meanwhile, Iowa is now the only undefeated conference team in the land after heading to 6-0 (2-0) by beating Michigan on Saturday night. The Hawkeyes are the first team in the conference to become bowl eligible.
10/03/2009 – Ohio State and Wisconsin go up to 2-0 in the conference race, while Michigan loses their first game in the conference for the year.
09/26/2009 – The Nittany Lions failed in their revenge game against Iowa, as the Hawkeyes defeated the defending conference champion at Beaver Stadium, 21-10. Meanwhile, Michigan and Wisconsin join Iowa as the lone undefeated teams in the conference.
09/19/2009 – Heading into conference play, Penn State, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin remain undefeated.
09/12/2009 – Ohio State lost a heartbreaker to USC 18-15, as Michigan State embarrassed the conference losing to Central Michigan. Nonetheless, Michigan showed it deserved respect after beating Notre Dame, 38-34

09/04/2009 -Season begins, Indiana wins on a Thursday night.

The Nittany Lions have won two of the past four titles (2005, 2008), while the Buckeyes have won at least a share of the title in every year since 2005. No other teams have won a share of the title since 2004 when Iowa and Michigan shared the title. See Recent Championships for more information.
